To the dismay of the money changers, Jackson wins the Presidency and makes it quite clear he intends to kill this bank at his first opportunity. He starts out during his first term in office rotting out the banks' many minions from government service. To illustrate how deep this cancer was rooted in government, he fires 2,000 of the 11,000 employees of the Federal Government.
